Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- GB Energy celebrated Texaco’s 100th anniversary in the Dominican Republic with a gala dinner attended by government officials, clients, retailers and strategic partners, as well as representatives from the country’s hydrocarbon and energy sector.

Texaco, being one of the most recognized and prestigious fuel brands in the world, celebrated at the Museum of the Royal Houses, a monument of majestic historical value in the Dominican culture and one of the most emblematic buildings of the Colonial City.

Upon entering this spectacular venue, which served as the scene for this exquisite celebration, guests went through a time tunnel of sorts. The walls of said tunnel were adorned with Texaco images depicting a historical anthology of its brand, from its beginnings to the present day. Meanwhile, saxophonist Sandy Gabriel and his Jazz Big Band played harmonious melodies to those present.

The festivity was attended by executives Reuven Bigio, CEO of GB Group; Laurence Bigio, Vice President of Marketing for GB Group; Yaël Bigio, member of the GB Group Council; Bruno Vincent, General Manager of GB Energy-Texaco in Dominican Republic; Pablo Portes, Board Member of GB Group and CEO of GB Energy; Domingo Bermúdez, Luis Carlos López and Osvaldo Oller, partners of GB Energy-Texaco, among others.

Master of ceremony, Mariasela Álvarez welcomed guests as she noted that Texaco has a network of more than 140 service stations throughout the country and celebrates 100 years of continuous presence in the Dominican Republic under the highest standards of operations, safety, health and the environment while contributing to the development of the nation.

After an institutional GB Energy video was projected and the 100 Year campaign unveiled, Mariasela gave the floor to Pablo Portes, CEO of GB Energy-Texaco, who thanked everyone for being part of the celebration and further explained the company’s policies on commitment and promise.

Likewise, GB Group CEO Reuven Bigio said: “GB Group embarked on this project in 2012 acquiring Texaco’s assets in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Saint Maarten, with the vision of becoming the partner of choice and a point of reference in the region’s energy sector. Today, we can say that GB Group, together with its shareholder partners: Grupo Bermúdez, Grupo Universal and Grupo Oller, has succeeded in positioning Texaco as a market.”

After listening to the GB Energy-Texaco executives, guests delighted in exquisite dishes prepared by some of the best chefs in the country before ending the celebration to the tune of renowned singer Maridalia Hernández.
