In support of its Health, Safety, Security & Environment program – or HSSE – GB Energy Texaco engaged in reforesting La Cuchilla hill in Yamasá, Monte Plata where 750 pine trees where carefully planted.

Mr. Ruben Alonso, Ministry of Environment expert, accompanied GB Energy Texaco employees and collaborators in this noble effort. La Cuchila in Yamasá is part of the Dominican Republic’s Quisqueya Verde National Plan whose main goal for the past 16 years has been to ensure a sustainable increase in the country’s forests, river basin recovery and reforestation.

GB Energy Texaco has a systematic approach to managing Health, Safety, Security & Environment in order to achieve continuous performance improvement. To this end, the company engages in ongoing key activities as part of its unfaltering effort to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, products and services while respecting sustainable business practices.

GB Energy’s replantation efforts are directed towards stripped mountains affected by erosion where streams and rivers are born as well as landscapes in need of conservation & restoration.
