As proud supporters of sports and baseball’s #1 fans, GBG Energy – TEXACO have announced their sponsorship of the famed Águilas Cibaeñas team in the Dominican Republic’s Winter Baseball League set to begin this Sunday with game #1 against the Gigantes del Cibao.
The Águilas Cibaeñas team – based in Santiago, DR. – was founded in 1937. They’ve won 5 Caribbean Series and 20 national titles since the Dominican League’s inception in the early 1900s being the team with most wins alongside the Tigueres del Licey.
The Águilas have a very large fan base in the Dominican Republic and in 2008 even hosted the Caribbean Series at their stadium: Estadio Cibao.
