Sow a Seed launches the Spread the Joy Challenge & GB GROUP is on board!

Throughout the fall, Sow a Seed launches the Spread the Joy Challenge, an annual drive raising funds for underserved orphanages and children in Haiti. To provide them with a fun-filled season this year, Sow a Seed is hosting Santa’s Wonderland and the GB GROUP is proud to help. This is a wonderful cause and season, we hope all find it in their hearts to contribute in any way you can.

This full-day event will benefit over 600 chil¬dren from Cite Soleil’s La Reference Village and various orphanages throughout Port-au- Prince including:

Divine Misericorde
Fondation Luce
Maison de la Grace
Maison des Anges
Rosemina
Sant Rev Ti Moun
Soeurs Redemptrices du Nazareth

On December 10, 2011, with the help of over 250 local students and adults, Sow a Seed will present its first ever Santa’s Wonderland at Union School in Pétion-Ville. Roundtrip transportation has been ensured for all partici¬pating children to attend a magical wonderland filled with food, fun and festivities.

There, they will be able to tap into their creativity at the arts and crafts station, learn hip moves at the dance clin¬ic, listen to the latest songs performed live by Haiti’s top stars, and indulge in delicious treats at the gingerbread houses and candyland. Topping of the day’s events is Santa’s toy distribution.

OUR MISSION
Sow a Seed is dedicated to bringing hope and creat¬ing sustainable change in the lives of orphans in Haiti. Sow a Seed also provides a strong and independent voice that shines a light on their needs and encourages preventive and lasting investments in the welfare of these underprivileged Haitian children.

WHO WE ARE
Sow a Seed is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based organization that works with struggling orphanages in Haiti, assisting them with food, shelter, education and healthcare. Founded and managed by a team of young Haitian-American professionals, Sow a Seed has been operating since 2004 with the financial support of leading foundations and corporations. The organization also benefits from individual donations.

COLLABORATING FOR COLLECTIVE GROWTH
While careful to maintain its independence and its basic principles of honesty, integrity, humanity and dedication, Sow a Seed works in collaboration and in partnership with other local and international organizations, vol¬unteer groups, private sponsors, public institutions that share its mission to embed seeds of hope into the lives of the most vulnerable children of Haiti.
