Haiti over Curaçao 4-2 in World Cup 2014 Qualifiers

WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao (defend.ht) – Team Haiti continued on in the CONCACAF World Cup 2014 Qualifying Tournament beating the team from the Netherland Antilles 4-2 on Tuesday night.

The “grenadiers” were slow to take control of the game allowing the opposing team to score 2 points in the first half of play, the 12th and 43rd minute.

After tying the score with goals from Kevin Lafrance (37′) and James Marcelin (62′), two more would follow from Sirin (68 ‘) and forward Saint-Preux (80 ‘), who has played for the FC Tempete in Saint Marc and and Le Mans (French second division).

Even with the win, Haiti slipped into the number 2 spot in Group F as Antigua and Barbuda trounced on the U.S. Virgin Islands 8-1 on their home turf, giving them the tie-breaker lead on points to Haiti, 10-8.

This second phase of qualifying at the 2014 World Cup hosted by Brazil on October 7.
