Project Vil Pwòp: Big clean in progress!

As part of the project “Vil Pwòp”, the Presidency of the Republic, with the logistical support of Haiti Recovery Group (HRG), has proceeded during the past weekend to the clean-up of several arteries of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, particularly in Delmas 33, Route de l’Aéroport, Boulevard la Saline and Route Nationale # 1 (Cite Soleil). Twenty-eight bins were placed in these locations to facilitate the collection of garbage. The operation will continue until July 25 and will run in other cities.

The organization “Mouvman Apiye Majorite a” (MAM) and Yélé Haiti have taken part actively to the sanitation campaign aiming to clear the country of these tons of garbage that litter its major cities. The organizers ask the residents not to add embankments on the garbage so as not to further complicate the operators’ work.
