CMA-CGM calls on Haiti’s Port Lafito

Friday May 26th, 2020. Lafiteau, Haiti – This week represented a milestone as well as a historical event in the form of a virtual cocktail hosted by Alejandra Labanca to celebrate the inauguration of the first regular service of global shipping group CMA-CGM, the world’s 4th largest container line to Port Lafito, Haiti’s first private and most efficient port.

Guy William, General Manager for Port Lafito, gave a warm welcome and thanks to CMA-CGM on behalf of the Board of Directors and staff for becoming a strategic partner. “CMA-CGM will find high-quality at Port Lafito with the most modern and efficient handling in port logistics in the country.” – William.

Port Lafito, by using state of the art technology, has become the anchor of a budding industrial and commercial ecosystem in the area of Lafiteau.

Efraín Osorio, CMA-CGM’s Vice President LATAM & Caribbean Region, mentioned its long operating history and having found a partner with the same passion for customers and business efficiency as Port Lafito. “The current weekly service will be long term and dedicated to the Haitian market and will allow us increase benefits for customers by calling at Port Lafito with its renowned efficiency. It will allow for best schedule reliability,” Osorio mentioned.

Mr. Osorio further stated: “Our partnership with Port Lafito will enable CMA to consolidate our strategic vision and develop long term relationships with our customers in a growth mode.” He added: “both Groups will strive to serve the best for our customers.”

Finally, Guy William led the virtual attendees in a memorable toast to mark the great union between these two great companies and the many benefits that will engender from this alliance.
